Immigration & Nationality

Immigration & Nationality

We can assist you in respect of both immigration and nationality matters. Immigration is basically concerned with your rights to remain in or return to the UK. Nationality is mainly concerned with citizenship and passports. In that category we deal with topics including:

  • naturalisation
  • passport applications
  • passport disputes.

We act only for private fee paying clients. We do not provide Legal Help or legal aid, nor do we work for no payment ( pro bono ).

Applications

In the field of immigration, we can deal with the full range of applications by which it is possible for a person to come to the UK to live, work or stay. Applications we can assist you with include:

  • marriage applications
  • civil partnership applications
  • finance applications
  • partner applications
  • work permit applications
  • long stay applications
  • asylum applications
  • business applications
  • compassionate circumstances applications
  • settlement applications
  • Article 8 European Convention on Human Rights applications

We can also assist with:

  • deportations
  • judicial reviews
  • immigration complaints, including compensation claims
  • asylum and immigration tribunal hearings.

UK Border Agency

Immigration matters are administered by the UK Border Agency (UKBA). Applications are normally made by submitting the requisite form, fee and supporting documentation to the UKBA. Further documentation and/or an interview may be required. Supporting documentation and evidence are key to the success of any application. Without the required documents and evidence, applications are less likely to succeed.

Knowledge and experience

We have the knowledge and experience to assess the facts of your case and from there to advise as to the most appropriate application for you – having regard to your circumstances, the law, caselaw and the evidence you have available. If your application is unsuccessful, we can guide and assist you with the options available to you – which may include alternatives such as: appeal, general representations, compassionate circumstances

representations, health representations, judicial review, bail applications, MP intervention. Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, family and private life representations and family ties representations.

Transfer from current advisers

We deal with transfer cases – where clients, unhappy with the performance of their current advisers, are looking to move to new advisers to hopefully improve their chances of being successful. We also deal with malpractice, negligence, incompetence, breach of contract and other failures by immigration advisers and solicitors including circumstances of lost files, papers and passports which leave clients exposed and at risk of imprisonment, removal, deportation or other sanction. We deal with judicial reviews in the courts as well as hearings in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.
